I am grateful to you, omnipotent God, eternal Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, maker of all things, and the keeper with Your Son co-eternal, and the Holy Spirit also, that with your inconceivable benefit [kindness] you brought light to your Church and sent your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, that for us he might be made a victim and through Him we might be given forgiveness of sins and life eternal and what immense benefit is this to us that you impart to us the Gospel and the Sacraments and the ministry of the Gospel and you look out for the Church and will not permit it to be destroyed. If only with a burning in our chest that we would thank you and consider and celebrate the great goodness and huge kindness you have shown us. But I beg you that you would ascend in me by your Holy Spirit, so that our minds should be truly grateful and that your light may shine forth in us through moral behavior with gratitude, etc. Also to you, Jesus Christ, Son of God, crucified on our behalf and resurrected, I am grateful, that your remarkable love for us intercedes on our behalf to the eternal Father for humankind and was made a victim for us and diverted the anger of God [from us] against our sin. Illuminate our hearts, so that we may greatly realize your vast goodness toward us and that we may truly celebrate you in gratitude. Amen.
